ROLE OF THE CERTIFYING PRACTITIONER

1. Confirm that the person is dead
2. Confirm the identity of the deceased.
3. Determine whether to refer the case to the Coroner
4. If not a Coroner case, determine whether the practitioner is legally able to complete the certificates.
5. If not eligible to complete the certificates, ensure that the eligible practitioner is notified.
